Garuda has 15 spacious cozy and clean rooms offered in the option of four main categories : Deluxe suite, Deluxe double, Standard Double, Economy double and dormitory. The rooms are all wall to wall carpeted with bathrooms attached with hot and cold shower. With the facility of multi channel T.V. and room services, deluxe rooms are with private balconies and the rest rooms with common lounge where both Mountain View and sunny side are the best options.
Garuda has a spacious, warm & open Restaurant with fire chimney to serve delicious food in variety namely, Continental, Chinese, Indian,Bengoli, Tibetan and sikkimese with specialization on Sikkimese rice set meal where the food rates are reasonable. Hotels guests may demand food in the room, for, there is room service facility. Garuda Restaurant also does pack lunch to take away and has sunny roof top cafe, fruits, chocolates and cookies parlor and local beer “Chhang” on order at dinner time.
Hotel has laundry service at reasonable rates to alternate self washing. To ensure good, care full and timely washing the professional laundry man is engaged.
Hotel has good collection of novels and other books contributed by most travelers through books swap which the management maintains for the guests to borrow and read.
Hotel has a tour information desk for the guests to get their tour information and tour organized. Also, the management updates the information on information board about the events and festivities which happens occasionally in and around Pelling including the prayers in the monasteries. A trekkers comment book which contains the comments written by the different trekkers and a local area map issued on demand from the reception are our extra complimentary service.
Garuda has store for excess gears of guests who go out for trekking for a few days the service facility of which is complimentary too.
Garuda has a family prayer room with Buddhist altar inside where the visitors who are Buddhist practitioners are allowed to meditate and practice. Some norms are to observed while going inside for meditation that he or she must not be using tobacco of any kind and must go in with the shoes off outside. As well, the Hotel owner has some of his personal dharma books which the guests may borrow and read to know more about dharma.
Sikkim has many festivals which people widely observe. Amongst the festivals some called as Losar (Tibetan New Year), Losoong (Sikkimese New Year), Hindus Manghey Sankrati, Hindus Deepawali, Christmas and English New Year are observed in the hotel by the owner’s family with involvement of hotels guests.
